China to Europe Rail Freight and Road Transport

China–Europe rail, trucking and multimodal routes: faster than sea, far cheaper than air.

  • China to Europe by rail in about 18–25 days
  • Full containers and LCL by rail
  • Door to door, with DDP available

China–Europe Rail and Multimodal Transport

Rail freight from China to Europe connects Chinese rail hubs with terminals in Poland, Germany and other European countries in roughly three weeks. For shipments to Europe it is usually two to three weeks faster than sea freight, at a fraction of the cost of air, which makes it ideal for restocking, seasonal goods and orders with a firm deadline.

JIEYI trucks your cargo from the suppliers to the departure terminal in China, books full-container or LCL rail space, and arranges customs clearance and final delivery by truck in Europe, including to the UK. Several rail corridors run between China and Europe; we confirm the routing, transit time and insurance conditions for your cargo before booking.

Before You Ship by Rail

Points to check early so the shipment runs smoothly.

Routing

Rail corridors run through Central Asia and Eastern Europe. We confirm the route, transit time, sanctions screening and insurance terms before you book.

Restricted cargo

Dangerous goods, many battery products and some high-value goods have restrictions on rail. Send product details so we can check acceptance.

Winter conditions

Trains cross very cold regions in winter. Liquids and temperature-sensitive goods may need special packing or another mode.

Container loads

Rail uses standard 20ft and 40ft containers. Small shipments travel as LCL and are charged by volume or weight.

Documents

Commercial invoice, packing list and the rail waybill. EU import also needs an EORI number and advance cargo data (ICS2).

Unsure if your cargo can go by rail?

Trains cross several countries, so some goods are restricted. Send the product details and we check.
