Volumetric weight
Express uses a lower divisor (÷5000) than air freight, so bulky boxes can cost much more than their real weight. Use the smallest carton that protects the goods.

| Express courier | Air freight | Sea freight LCL | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Samples and parcels under about 100 kg | About 100 kg and above | From about 1 CBM, not urgent |
| Door to door | 3–7 days | 5–10 days | 30–60 days |

Express Chargeable Weight
Express couriers charge by the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (L × W × H in cm ÷ 5000).
Example: a 60 × 40 × 40 cm carton has a volumetric weight of 19.2 kg. If it really weighs 8 kg, you pay for 19.2 kg.

Tips for Shipping Parcels by Express
Small details make a big difference to express cost and speed.
Batteries and liquids
Lithium batteries, liquids, powders and magnets have special rules or cannot be sent by express. Tell us before the parcel is packed.
Duties and taxes
Unless you choose DDP, the receiver usually pays duties, taxes and a handling fee to the courier on delivery.
Remote areas
Deliveries to remote postcodes can carry a surcharge. Send the full delivery address so we can check it.
Commercial invoice
Each shipment needs an invoice with a clear product description and real value. Under-declaring causes delays and penalties.
Sending lithium batteries?
Couriers have strict rules for batteries. Tell us the battery type and we check before pickup.
Ask before you send
What You Pay for Express

- Destination – country, postcode and any remote-area surcharge
- Number of parcels – consolidating several parcels often costs less
- Contents – batteries or special goods may need a different service
- Duties paid or not – DDP includes import duties and taxes

Express Rates from China
Typical rates per kg of chargeable weight in November 2026. Very small parcels cost more per kg; send the weight and box size for an exact price.
| Destination | Typical rate per kg | Door to door |
|---|---|---|
| USA | $12–16 | 3–6 days |
| Canada | $13–17 | 4–7 days |
| United Kingdom | $8–12 | 3–6 days |
From about 100 kg, air freight is usually cheaper per kg. Duties and taxes are extra unless you ship DDP.
Express Cost Example
Two sample boxes of 50 × 40 × 30 cm, 10 kg each. Each box has a volumetric weight of 12 kg (50 × 40 × 30 ÷ 5000), so you pay for 24 kg, not 20 kg.
| Destination | Rate per kg | Express for 24 kg |
|---|---|---|
| USA | $12–16 | about $288–384 |
| Canada | $13–17 | about $312–408 |
| United Kingdom | $8–12 | about $192–288 |
Buying samples from several suppliers? We collect them, check them and send them together in one parcel, which usually costs less than separate parcels. This also works for samples from the Canton Fair.
Express Shipping from China: FAQ
How long does express shipping from China take?
Usually about 3–7 days door to door to the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe after pickup. Remote areas and customs checks can add a few days.
How is express shipping priced?
By chargeable weight: the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight (length × width × height in cm ÷ 5000). Bulky light boxes are therefore charged by size.
When should I use air freight instead of express?
From about 100 kg, air freight is usually cheaper per kilo. Express is best for samples, documents and small parcels that need door delivery fast.
Who pays duties and taxes on express parcels?
Unless the shipment is sent DDP, the receiver normally pays duties, taxes and a handling fee to the courier before delivery. With DDP these are included in our price.
Can you consolidate parcels from several suppliers?
Yes. We collect parcels from different suppliers, combine them and send them as one shipment, which usually costs less than separate parcels.
How much does express shipping from China to the USA cost?
In November 2026, about $12–16 per kg of chargeable weight, door to door in about 3–6 days. Very small parcels cost more per kg, so send the weight and box size for an exact price.
Can you collect samples from several suppliers or the Canton Fair?
Yes. We collect samples from your suppliers, or from the fair, check them and send them to you together in one express parcel.
Can I send products with batteries by express?
Some can, with the right documents and packing, and some cannot. Send the product details first and we will check which service accepts them.
